Tracy Timmins was born in Eugene, Oregon. She lives and works in both California and New York.
From 2004-2006 she ran auto3321, a storefront gallery on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. In 2006 Tracy received a BFA from California College of Arts and is currently a Masters candidate at NYU. She is also a member of the Thin Ice Collective.
